[verb] walk through water or another liquid or soft substance
We can wade shallow rivers, but deeper ones we'll have to swim. -
Sometimes they had to wade waist-deep through mud.
We had to wade through pages of legal jargon before we could sign the contract.
The police waded into the crowd with batons. -
Even when she knows nothing about it, she wades in with her opinion.
The children have gone wading/paddling.
I am in blood stepp’d in so far that, should I wade no more, returning were as tedious as go o’er.
