深入解读
据传大约三百年前，一位英国化学家冥思苦想，想找到一个能表达“bitterly pungent（既苦又辣的）”含义的单词。他最先想到的是“acrimonious（辛辣的）”和“acid（酸苦的）”这两个单词，心里琢磨为何不将两者合并为一个单词呢？于是他索性取前者首部和后者尾部缩合成一词，这就构成了acrid。除了表示“（气味或味道）辛辣的、刺激呛人的”以外，acrid也可以用于形容态度、言词等“刻薄的、讥刺的”。
