lend、borrow与loan这些动词均含“借”之意。
lend : 指将自己的东西借出给别人，也可用于借喻意义。
- She doesn't like lending her books.
她不喜欢把书借给别人。 - If you need a coat I can lend you one/lend one to you.

borrow : 指从某人或某处借来某物，也可用作比喻。
- I had to borrow a pen from the invigilator to do the exam.

他从图书馆里借了一本小说。
loan : 指通过正式的手续，借数目较大的贷款。在美国也可指借出东西。

谢谢你把自行车借给我。 - This exhibit is on loan (= being borrowed/lent) from/to another museum.
