flock、herd与swarm这些名词都有“群”之意。
flock : 主要指鸟群、羊群；也指较小的动物群，也可指特定类型的一人群。

牧羊人正把羊群往山下赶。 - A noisy flock of tourists came into the building.
一群吵吵嚷嚷的游客走进了大楼。 - The priest invited all the members of his flock (= all the people who go to his church) to attend the special service.

herd : 一般指大动物的群，尤指家畜的群，也可指芸芸众生的人群。

swarm : 通常指蜜蜂、昆虫等的群，也指（蜂拥的）一大群（人）。
