escape、flee、fly、get away与run away这些动物或短语动词都有“逃跑、逃脱”之意。
escape : 侧重逃跑的结果，不强调逃跑时的匆忙或危险情况。
- Two prisoners have escaped.
两个犯人逃走了。 - A lion has escaped from its cage.
一头狮子逃出了兽笼。 - She was lucky to escape serious injury.
她真是万幸，逃过一劫，没有受重伤。 - He narrowly (= only just) escaped a fine.
他差一点被罚款。 - His name escapes me (= I have forgotten his name).
我记不起他的名字了。 - Nothing important escapes her notice/attention.
任何重要的事情都不会逃过她的眼睛／注意。
flee : 书面用词，侧重指逃跑时动作匆忙，多含惧怕之意。
- She fled (from) the room in tears.
她哭着跑出房间。 - In order to escape capture, he fled to the mountains.
为了免遭俘虏，他逃到了山里。
fly含义与flee相同，但系非正式用词。
get away : 口语用语。侧重指犯罪分子从现场逃跑或被捕时逃走。
- We walked to the next beach to get away from the crowds.
为了避开人群，我们向另一片海滩走去。 - I'll get away from work as soon as I can.
我会尽早下班。
run away : 口语用语，强调动作迅速。
- She accused him of running away from his responsibilities.
她指责他逃避责任。
